Animation School Admissions and Portfolios
What animation programs ask applicants to submit, how requirements differ by degree, field and country, and a checklist you can keep in your browser. Requirements are always taken from each program's own instructions — never replaced by a universal list. Application routes also differ: some countries use a central application service, others apply to each school directly.
Materials by degree and field
Portfolios
Most animation programs ask for a portfolio of creative work. Schools differ on whether they want finished pieces, sketchbooks or process work, how many pieces, and whether a written statement about your role in each piece is expected.

Showreels and animation samples
Some programs, mostly at master's level, ask for a showreel or animation samples. Look for the maximum running time, whether excerpts are accepted and whether you must identify your role on each piece.
